DESCRIPTION
OCTOBER 1st "VOCAL JAZZ"
The Susan Krebs Band
http://www.susankrebsmusic.com
"Krebs and her band sound like no one else in today?s jazz world."
~ John Sanders/Jazz Music Archives

Susan is looking forward to making music in the intimate and convivial Bar Fedora on October 1st, bringing four of her longtime collaborators with her, which will make for an exciting evening of musical fun!
Rich Eames (keys), Domenic Genova (bass), Scott Breadman (perc), Rob Lockart (woodwinds).

Susan has been an actor and theater improviser for many years (Film: 28 Days; TV: Mad Men, Shameless; Improv: War Babies, the Wims) but her passion has always been for the music, performing at venues such as Vitellos, LACMA, Blue Whale -- as well as in theaters and living rooms with her jazz salon, ThemeScene.
Following her critically acclaimed multimedia concert and recording project, JAZZ AVIARY, a Celebration of Birds, and working again with her longtime collaborators, Rich Eames and Jerry Kalaf, the Susan Krebs Band released Everything Must Change in 2012.
Her most recent recording project "simple gifts" with the Susan Krebs Chamber Band was released in 2015, garnering enthusiastic reviews >

Wayne Moore and Brenda Silas Moore have been entertaining cabaret audiences for over 30 years. In Los Angeles, they opened both ?The Gardenia? and ?The Rose Tattoo? nightclubs and have played in virtually every other venue in town. Variety called them ??a miniature Broadway Show? and the L.A. Times called them ?That large and hilarious duo.? They?ve toured the world, playing Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, Grand Cayman Island, Tokyo, Houston and Dallas, and of course, New York at the world famous ?88?s?. Their first album ?Wayne & Brenda: Live! At The Rose Tattoo? sold out of two printings and the second ?What?s a Brayne & Wenda?? has been released on CD by Ducy Lee Recordings

JACKIE GIBSON is rapidly becoming one of the fastest rising new voices in the Los Angeles Jazz Scene. As with all overnight successes, Ms. Gibson's musical journey has been evolving for decades. At a young age, her life was filled with music, having a father who sang in piano bars and a mother who put her to bed to classical music. By 16, she was a part of L.A.'s Folk Movement , appearing alongside the likes of Joni Mitchell at venues like The Troubadour and Ciro's. Over the years, Jackie has performed all over the southland, at popular events in the Redlands Bowl, Barnsdall Park Garden Party, and The Kodak Theater. Proud of her Latina heritage, Jackie is a bilingual vocalist who has been seen on KMEX's "Nosotros".

Since embracing the world of Cabaret/Jazz, Jackie has received enthusiastic acclaim for her appearances at Redwhitebluezz, Upstairs At Vitello's, (now re-named the ESpot Lounge), The Gardenia, Stoney Point, Smokehouse, Catalina Bar & Grill , and MBar In Hollywood. In 2014, Jackie created ?JAZZ DEL CORAZON ?, a series of local fundraising events assisting struggling fellow jazz artists in various life-altering states of need. She was joined by several wonderful co- producers for different fundraisers, including Clifford Bell; most recently, working with co-producers , Cathy Segal-Garcia and Gary Brumburgh, to produce the ?Jazz vs. Cancer? benefit for WeSPARK Cancer Center. It was one of the many memorable LA area music events serving our local based musicians and singers. Through her non-profit organization, Jackie continues to be a strong and vital LA pulse when it comes to the spirit of giving and healing via her enthusiasm for all types of music. Jackie is following her heart by using her musical talents and professional relationships to provide support and comfort for those in our music community in extreme need.

The Third Annual Facial Paralysis Awareness Walkathon
DESCRIPTION
The Facial Paralysis & Bell?s Palsy Foundation has set Sunday, October 16 for its 3rd Annual Facial Paralysis Awareness Walkathon. The one-mile walk takes place at the Shoreline Aquatic Park in Long Beach, beginning at 1:00PM for registration and 1:30PM for the start-time of the walk.

Headlining the event are respected Beverly Hills-based facial nerve expert Dr, Babak Azizzadeh, comedian Brian Apprille (who overcame Ramsay Hunt Syndrome and facial paralysis which nearly crippled his career) and Mary Jo Buttafuoco, whose face was left partially paralyzed after a gunshot wound. A series of facial reanimation surgeries administered by Dr. Azizzadeh ? including static facial suspension, face lift and eye lift procedures ? restored facial balance and restored her ability to smile.

Following the walk, participants are invited to gather at the Shoreline Aquatic Park for an afternoon of food, entertainment, prize giveaways and speakers including Dr. Azizzadeh and Mary Jo Buttafuoco.

A suggested donation of $25 per person, or $45 dollars per couple/family will help to cover the costs of the food and official event t-shirts that will be distributed to all participants. T-shirts can be pre-ordered to size by filling out the registration form located at http://facialparalysisfoundation.org/awareness-walk-2016/.

All proceeds will benefit the Facial Paralysis & Bell?s Palsy Foundation, which goes towards hosting support groups for people and families affected by facial paralysis and improving overall outreach and education about the condition.

?We look forward to a fun event that will further awareness of facial paralysis across the Southern California community,? said Dr. Azizzadeh.

The Facial Paralysis & Bell?s Palsy Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2009, with the goal to provide support, encouragement, and resources to individuals and families dealing with facial paralysis and Bell?s Palsy.
